European Cookie Directive - Affiliate Future 'Current guidelines'
Posted by on 01 May 2015 01:25 PM

With the current confusion relating to the cookie / cookies law, the implementation and the vague wording and definitions relating to it, we are working with other networks, the DMA and the IAB in finding a solution.

It is our belief that the directive will be made more specific and is likely going down an ‘essential information’ route.  The UK government has gone on record to state that whilst technically all firms must comply with the law, the UK has said that it needs more time to find a workable solution.

The government said that it was looking for a "business-friendly" solution and believed in light-touch regulation.  It will take time for workable technical solutions to be developed, evaluated and rolled out and as such we are waiting on the lead that will come from the ICO in what is expected to be the early part of next year (2012).

We will of course work with all our publishers and advertisers to implement any laws that become enforceable.
